care package
awwww – what a pleasant surprise! this came in the mail for me today…
woweeeeee. rui remembered that i was obsessed with all-things-MATCHA (japanese green tea) and actually sent me these goodies that she found during her recent trip to japan. the thoughtfulness could kill me.
matcha pocky, kit-kat, and chelsea butterscotches. all quite delightful! the kit-kat are my favorite. sooo good. just wanna plunk myself down with a costco-sized quantity and a huge pot of tea. she even threw in a shoyu kit-kat! can you believe that? i bet it’s tasty cuz of the winning combo of saltiness and sweetness.
sadly, i’ve already decimated most of the stash. i couldn’t help but devour the goods as soon as i ripped opened the envelope.
so rui-chan, if you’re reading this, please know that you made me an extremely happy, touched camper today. it’s nice to know you thought of me in japan, and think of me in hawaii. i feel special.

I beleeeeeeve there is an Asian Art Museum rule about one eating sticky candy at one’s keyboard….no? I’ve got to rosy up your cheeks a bit by saying you look adorable in these pictures.

glad you enjoyed the treats. did you notice that the cookie in the pocky also contained hints of matcha? what did you think of the shoyu? it smells like it but the flavor was not as dynamic as i had hoped.

@tim: oh you have no idea. my IT friend jokes that if i turned the keyboard over, muffins would fall out.
@rui: yes, i definitely noticed the actual matcha in the cookie part. the shoyu was good, but true, not very dynamic. i thought it would’ve been more savory and sweet, but mostly it was just sweet.
