haha I think it would be hilarious if your food choices were dictated by Jenn's mood.

"You will have the braised lamb with cumin sauce over rice."

"Thanks but I want the pork chop with the --"

"BRAISED LAMB. IT'S WHAT JENN FEELS"

Taking the conversation into another direction, I love this styrofoam box as an art object package.

I can imagine a whole section of a convenience store dedicated to containers like this with different Jenn self-portraits. Each would hold food that you should eat based on your/Jenn's mood.

oh yeah, I was gonna say: one reason some people, like myself, like to read books is to try and guess which characters the author based on himself. Likewise with comics; I get giddy trying to find drawings of Tezuka and Maruo that they sprinkle into their own comics. Looking at your self-portraits reveals things you think about yourself, that I might not have realized before from hanging out with you. Basically, I'm a nosy voyeur who wants you to never stop drawing your face so I can peer into your brain

I think you DO have a consistent, highly-recognizable style of illustration all your own, but I also think that it can be good to have a variety of styles and mediums under your belt. That's why I admire artists like Makoto Aida; that guy can do EVERYTHING, and he does it all so well. He can jump from really graphic, manga-esque paintings to extremely well-rendered illustrations to more abstract, conceptual pieces of painting, illustration, and sculpture all the way to video and performance art. He's CRAZY

Also, I think it's awesome that you always draw yourself; drawing is a really personal experience, and what's more personal than your own face? Plus there are those Chinese painters, like Yue Minjun, who paint NOTHING but themselves. It's totally cool, so don't stop, and don't even worry about it
