Likewise with comics; I get giddy trying to find drawings of Tezuka and Maruo that they sprinkle into their own comics. Looking at your self-portraits reveals things you think about yourself, that I might not have realized before from hanging out with you. That's why I admire artists like Makoto Aida; that guy can do EVERYTHING, and he does it all so well. He can jump from really graphic, manga-esque paintings to extremely well-rendered illustrations to more abstract, conceptual pieces of painting, illustration, and sculpture all the way to video and performance art.
